IWA Eligibility


  1. You do not have to be a member of Women in Business and Regional Development to apply
  2. These awards are to support the Women in our region.  You must therefore identify as a women to apply.
  3. Business must be Australian owned
  4. Applicants must reside or conduct business within the Limestone Coast or Western Victoria council regions as listed
      1. City Council of Mount Gambier
      2. Grant and District Council
      3. Kingston District
      4. Naracoorte/Lucindale
      5. District Council of robe
      6. Tatiara
      7. Wattle Range
      8. Glenelg Shire
      9. West Wimmera
      10. Southern Grampians
  1. All award categories are different and so is the criteria please check below for individual category criteria.
  2. We require some additional information to support all applications. Ensure all documents and photos are attached at time of application.
  3. Application information including provided documentation and photos may be used in the promotion of the Awards and Gala Event
  4. Applicants agree to support media publicity prior to and after the event including use of photos in promotional material
  5. Applications close midnight Friday 28th June 2019.  No late applications will be accepted.
  6. Applicants are encouraged to attend the award with their support team and join the celebration. Non attendance at the event does not disqualify the recipient
  7. All Recipients will be asked to accept the award via a maximum 5 minute thank you speech.
  8. Previous recipients of an Influential Women in Business Award dated post 2014 are not eligible to apply in the same category.
  9. Applicants must not be affiliated with the Award partner for chosen category
  10. Applicant must not be a member of the WiBRD Board or a paid contractor


  • The applicant in all categories excluding the following
    • Employee of the Year which is to be applied for by employer or direct manager.
    • Community Leader which can be applied for by an organisation member on behalf of the applicant


Community Leader –

  • Applicant must be an active member/recognised volunteer of the nominated organisation

Best Business –

  • Business can include a partnership, franchise, trust or company
  • Must employee 6 or more employees

Best Small Business –

  • Business can include a partnership, franchise, trust or company
  • Must employee 5 or less employees

Employee of the Year –

  • Paid employee of a business (not a contractor as defined by the Fairwork and ATO)
