Ilana Adam and Marika Gazzard of Lanamara and Danielle England of Black Island Produce were the joint recipients of the Entrepreneurial Scholarship. In a turn for the books the judging panel selected joint winners in the entrepreneurial category and in an incredible act of generosity, Scholarship Partners Flinders EnVision and Dare to Dream Business Coaching and Mentoring doubled their prizes to accommodate the joint recipients. Danielle was unfortunately unable to attend the evening as she was in isolation on her farm at Keilira following her daughters return from her Victorian boarding school, the scholarship was accepted on her behalf by WiBRD Board Member, Harriet Keatley.

Cindy Cross of Post and Rail Potager and Pantry was announced as the recipient of the Business Booster Scholarship by Southern Cross Austereo Representative Jazz Gritton.

Prior to the announcement of the Scholarship recipients Toni Vorenas, WiBRD Board Member and Member of the Scholarship judging panel reflected on the importance of the scholarships for the community “both of these scholarships epitomise the values that sit at the heart of WIBRD. They recognize the enormous creativity and talent we have here in the Limestone Coast, and they serve to offer the connections and mentoring that are so vital to all of us in business.”

Toni went on to applaud the calibre of all nominees for the 2020 Scholarship program “What was clearly evident and the common thread in all the applications was just how passionate they are not only about their businesses and own personal development but also how passionate you are about showcasing our region and all it has to offer. “

The WiBRD Scholarship Program which has been developed in partnership with Dare to Dream Business Coaching and Mentoring, Southern Cross Austereo and Flinders University will take place for a year from July 2020 to June 2021.

Each scholarship is valued at over $2500 for women who demonstrate entrepreneurial potential and/or run an established business and are seeking support to help boost their businesses into its next phase.  The WiBRD 2020 Business Booster & Entrepreneurial Scholarship program supports the establishment and fostering of entrepreneurs and businesswomen in the Limestone Coast & Western Victoria.

The scholarships are directly aligned with the Women in Business & Regional Development strategic direction whereby the recipients of the scholarships will be supported and guided in their business pursuits  and underpin the WiBRD mission of growing the potential of regional women and supporting them to create powerful legacies.
